Can you take my other recycling such as cardboard and glass?
The Zero Waste Bag by HBS program does not collect cardboard or glass. You can reach out to us with any stream-specific questions at customerservice@hbstrash.com.
What is the large Zero Waste Bag?
The large Zero Waste Bag measures approximately 24" x 24" and is about same capacity as a 13 gallon kitchen bag.
What is the small Zero Waste Bag?
The small Zero Waste Bag measures approximately 10" x 13".
Scheduling a pickup
How do I schedule a pickup?
Simply send and email to customerservice@hbstrash.com to schedule pickups for the bags you currently have.
What time will my pickup be?
Please place your Zero Waste Bags in front of your door the night before your scheduled pickup. Drivers may arrive as early as 6:00 a.m.
What if I miss my pickup?
Please contact customer service. You can email us at customerservice@hbstrash.com.
Is there a maximum number of Zero Waste Bags I can have picked up at once?
We will pick up as many Zero Waste Bags as you have ready. When you schedule your pickup, you will be asked to fill in the number of Zero Waste Bags you will have ready for collection.
How full can my Zero Waste Bag be?
All items must fit in the provided Zero Waste Bag and the Zero Waste Bag must be sealed. We do not collect loose items or open Zero Waste Bags.
What happens to the items after you pick them up?
Zero Waste Bag by HBS guarantees that we recycle all compliant materials that are collected. The items are received by our material recovery partners, where they are sorted into individual material components. Each material is then recycled into a raw format that can be used to make new products.

Do you have a list of all the waste you recycle?
You can review all 27 waste streams that we accept here. Click on each stream to learn details about the accepted waste types, recycling processes, and final products created with the processed waste.
Is there anything you don't accept?
We do not accept any trash or waste stream that is not included in the 27 accepted waste streams printed on the Zero Waste Bags. If you are unsure or have a specific question, please contact us at customerservice@hbstrash.com.
Can I put the same things in small and large Zero Waste Bags?
No. Small and large Zero Waste Bags accept different waste streams. Please only put accepted items (listed on the bag) in each Zero Waste Bag.
Can I put trash from more than one waste stream in one Zero Waste Bag?
Please only put items from one specific waste stream in each Zero Waste Bag. Mark the checkbox for that waste stream on the bag to indicate what’s inside.
Do I have to clean the waste before I put it in the Zero Waste Bag?
Cleaning items is appreciated but not required. Please remove as much of the remaining product as possible before including the item in your collections.
